Selecting the best private jets today is a complex task that becomes more difficult the more limited the list becomes. The various manufacturers of these aircraft strive to evolve their most popular models or create new options, adding advanced technological and interior design features. With this in mind, the following list summarizes some of the most popular offerings in the business aviation market.
Gulfstream G500 and G600 top our list of best private jets.
These two aircraft models were launched in 2014 by Gulfstream Aerospace based in Savannah, Georgia-USA. However, the G500 first flight was in 2015, while the G600 would flew a year later. Both received their final certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
The Gulfstream G500 features twin Pratt & Whitney PW814GA engines that allow it to reach a speed of 488 knots (903.77 km/h). It can also cruise up to 516 knots (955.63 km/h) and achieve a range of up to 5,200 nautical miles (9,630 km/h). This represents a maximum distance 18% greater than that covered by its predecessor, the G450, using the same amount of fuel. It is therefore a jet designed to cover intercontinental routes such as London-Johannesburg or Los Angeles-Tokyo.
The G500 features a Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck avionics package with ten touch screens to reduce the number of toggle switches and buttons required on the flight deck. That operating package encompasses a Gulfstream Phase-of-Flight system, which provides a structured task list to pilots, easing maneuvering and reducing workload.
In terms of exterior design, the G500’s length is almost 28 meters and its wingspan is 26.54 m (80 ft). While its 12.65 m long by 2.41 m wide and 1.93 m high cabin can accommodate eight to ten passengers in its standard layout. Even so, this interior is configurable to accept up to nineteen people or include sleeping spaces, maintaining a capacity for eight passengers. It should be noted that the cabin height is extendable up to 2.40 m when internal redesign work is applied. This model has fourteen panoramic windows that allow a wide view and the entry of natural light.
The G600 has two Pratt & Whitney PW815GA engines, with which it can cover 6,500 nmi or 12,040 Kms non-stop. Before entering formal operations in 2019, it obtained ten speed records and today holds 22. This is possible because it is capable of reaching an average of 0.90 Mach or 1,102.53 Km/h. In this sense, it has sufficient autonomy to cover routes such as New York-Dubai or London-Beijing. Like the G500, it has the Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck already described.
The external dimensions of the G600 are: 29.29 m long and a wingspan of 28.96 m. It has initial capacity for 11 passengers, but its interior space is configurable to accommodate up to 19 passengers. Accordingly, its cabin is 13.77 m long, 2.31 m wide and 1.88 m high (expandable). In its standard design, it features three delimited environments and a crew rest area.
We continue our list of the best private jets with a more advanced Gulfstream model, the G650ER, which entered in service during 2014. Although it has the same cruise speed capabilities as the G600, the G650 is considered the fastest business jet. Moreover, it’s the aircraft with the longest non-stop coverage in its class, with enough autonomy to fly from Singapore to Tucson, Arizona (USA). In total, 15,518 km at an average speed of 960 km/hour, beating its own record for distance (+417 km) and flight time (+44 minutes).
The external measurements of the Gulfstream G650 are: 30.40 m long and wingspan of 30.35 m. In terms of cabin design, it has four areas for work, including entertainment, relaxation and food. As if that were not enough, it has two more panoramic windows than previous models, bringing the total to sixteen. All this, in a space of 14.27 m long, 2.49 m wide and 1.91 m high, adaptable to the requirements. In fact, it can be redesigned to provide comfort for up to 19 passengers.
Dassault Falcon 8X, among Europe’s best private jets
It is logical that the French manufacturer Dassault applied its experience in military fighters to design the Falcon 8X, specifically in flight control, efficiency and sound reduction. This model has three Pratt & Whitney PW307D engines that allow a range of 6,450 nmi or 11,945 km, and can reach Mach 0.90 (1102.53 km/h). Therefore, it is capable of saving time on non-stop intercontinental routes such as Beijing-New York or London-São Paulo. Reasons enough to include this model in our inventory of the best private jets.
In the same way, Dassault incorporates into the Falcon 8X its patented digital flight control that has been developed and improved for more than 40 years. This system arranges the flight control surfaces, making higher performance feasible, as well as more enjoyable and safer journeys.
The external dimensions of the Falcon 8X are: 24.46 m in length, with wing span of 26.29 m and height of 7.94 m. As far as the cabin is concerned, excluding crew and baggage compartment, it is 13 m (length), by 1.88 m (height) and 2.34 m (width). Undoubtedly, a space adaptable to the owner’s purposes; either to increase passenger capacity or to add more comfort.
Bombardier Global 7500
Canadian aeronautics Bombardier is present in our list of the best private jets, with the Global 7500 that flew for the first time in 2016. This model has two GE Passport engines, with which it can achieve cruise speeds between 0.85 and 0.90 Mach. Thanks to this it is capable of covering journeys of up to 14,260 km non-stop.
In addition, it has a complete avionics system that includes the Bombardier Vision, with four screens for flight coverage. At the same point, it has a fly-by-wire system with side stick controls, enhanced vision devices, graphic flight planning and weather radar, among others.
Its length is 33.8 m, total wing width of 31.7 m and 8.2 m high. Consequently, the cabin interior is one of the longest: 16.59 m, complemented by 1.88 m in height and 2.44 m in width. According to Bombardier, the Global 7500 is the only jet in the industry with four cabins, plus dedicated suites and galley. Of course, its dimensions allow it to be configured to suit the customer’s purposes.
A classic brand brings one of the best private jets: the Cessna CJ4.
It is obvious that the American manufacturer Cessna had to be on this list of best private jets, with one of its Citations: the CJ4. A medium-sized, light, single-pilot aircraft, equipped with two Williams FJ44-4 engines, that reaches a speed of 835 Km/h (451 Ktas). Certainly, its range is less than the previously described models, since it barely covers a maximum distance of 2,165 nmi or 4,010 Kms non-stop.
Even so, the Citation CJ4 has an advanced Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite. This system includes dual and multifunction main flight displays, individual flight management system with GPS navigation and weather radar among others. In terms of external dimensions, it is 16.3 m long, with a wing span of 15.49 m and 4.7 m high.

It is also a light, single-pilot aircraft with two PW535E1 engines, with which it reaches a cruising speed of 859.32 km/h (859.32 mph). It has a maximum range of 2,010 nmi or 3,722.52 Kms. Its external specifications are: 15.9 meters in length, 16.2 m wingspan and 5 m in height. Its 5.24 m cabin length can accommodate eight passengers and can be extended to ten.
Customization possibilities for the best private jets
As we said in the description of each model in our summary of the best private jets, these models allow redesigning their cabins. At some point, the owners or companies that manage these and other aircraft will require a rethinking of the internal spaces. Such a process could result in the inclusion of new comfort features or a larger number of seats. Ultimately, these modifications will respond to the purposes for which the aircraft will be used in the future.
For these tasks, it is important to have a company specialized in the interior redesign of business aircraft. In particular, Aeronáutica Gestión offers the advice of professionals linked to the aeronautical industry and specialized in aircraft interior reconditioning. And we are talking, of course, about any type and model of aircraft. AG has suppliers, products and components of proven quality, certified by air safety agencies like EASA. These conditions are indispensable for the replacement of seats, carpets, carpets, panels, tables and any type of accessory or device in aircraft.
Anti-Covid 19 disinfection services
On the other hand, owners of private jets and aircraft must comply with and apply the disinfection protocols established to maintain their operability. The health crisis generated by the coronavirus severely affected the aviation sector with a preventive paralysis that lasted for months. The resumption of flights requires extreme measures to reduce the risk of contagion in air travel.
For this reason, a company such as Aeronáutica Gestión, specialized in anti-Covid 19 sanitation procedures in aircraft, is certified by aviation safety organizations. Moreover, it uses products and utensils expressly authorized by these authorities for the indicated purposes.
Both for the redesign of aircraft interiors and the application of anti-Covid disinfection protocols, AG is a guarantee of safety and quality. In this perspective, we have – among others – the following certifications:
- EASA: European Aviation Safety Agency.
- AESA: State Safety Agency (Spain).
